Fernando J Tirado is a freelance journalist specializing in sports, architecture, food and travel.
He was the team photographer for the Ventura County Fusion from 2013-15, and has photographed international sporting competitions such as the 2013 Gold Cup and the 2014 Breeders' Cup.
Fernando has traveled the world, starting with his experiences in the U.S. Army. He served a yearlong combat tour in Afghanistan, as a medic in the 101st Airborne Division.
Outside of the military, Fernando has been all over the world, traveling through North America, Asia, visiting Singapore, Thailand and Japan, and has explored Europe, with Scotland being a definite favorite.
Fernando graduated from the Brooks Institute with a Bachelors of Science in Visual Journalism in 2015.
He currently works with Hedrich Blessing, a world renowned architecture photography firm as well as covering food and restaurants for the Zagat's guide.
He currently resides in Chicago, IL.
