Bio:

Fernando J Tirado is a visual journalist and digital/social media manager specializing in sports, music, architecture, food, and travel.

From 2015 -2018 he worked for Hedrich Blessing, a world-renowned architecture photography firm as well as covering food and restaurants for the Zagat's guide. 

He was the team photographer for the Ventura County Fusion from 2013-15, and has photographed international sporting competitions such as the 2013 Gold Cup and the 2014 Breeders' Cup.

Fernando has traveled the world, starting with his experiences in the U.S. Army. He served a yearlong combat tour in Afghanistan, as a medic in the 101st Airborne Division. 

Outside of the military, Fernando has been all over the world, traveling through North America, Asia, visiting Singapore, Thailand, and Japan, and has explored Europe, with Scotland being a definite favorite.

Fernando graduated from the Brooks Institute with a Bachelors of Science in Visual Journalism in 2015.  

He worked for Chicago Fire Department from 2018 -2021 where he was responsible for covering any and all photo/video needs from shooting to editing, including events, portraits, on-site training, instructional manuals, and live fires.

He created and managed the official Chicago Fire Department Facebook and Instagram as well as providing the majority of content.

He was also responsible for creating budgets as well as drafting media policy.

He managed a small team of Firefighters turned content
creators and helped improve their media abilities.

Recently he’s started working in music photography, taking photos of local bands throughout the Chicago area.

He currently works freelance in Chicago, IL.
